Charanga del Norte

Charanga vel Norte are an exciting and energetic 12 piece Cuban band, described by Songlines as a“superb UK based salsa and charanga band” and by DJ Armstrong as ‘The perfect happy shot for the heart, brain and soul”

Established in 1999 by Sue Miller, the band are the only full charanga orchestra in the UK with a band line up of flute, violins, cello, piano, bass, timbales, congas, güiro and singers. The band have supported top international Cuban bands, including Buena Vista Social Club’s Eliades Ochoa in the main concert hall at The Bridgewater Hall, Orchestra Aragón and Changüi de Guantanamo at the Barbican, London.
